All kayak models in our Performance Touring category come with the option of our Spring Loaded Skeg System. Our skeg system is simple to deploy and features a kink-free operation. The skeg line is housed in a tube and tucked away under-deck so it reduces the chance of snagging when loading and unloading gear. As a note, a skeg can be deployed at different increments so the paddler can determine the amount of aid in tracking needed. A skeg does not move side to side so it will not aid in steering the boat. If you would like a steering aid, you can request a rudder as an option.

The iSUP BIG ALL TERRAIN was designed to be as versatile as the user. A great board for morning paddles, riding a few rapids, catching waves or going tandem with your dog. This 10’10”, 6ﾔ thick board can easily handle up to 300 lbs so don’t be afraid to load it up. The added thickness makes the board 38% stiffer than a 100mm or 4ﾔ board at the same PSI. The Makua is our introductory inflatable that is the same length as our famous Braddah and the thickness of our Big. So it’s a 10’6’ by 32” wide and 6” thick, offering a very stable ride and a capacity of up to 250lbs. The drop stitch count is less, at 600 and a single layer construction, making the Makua a very lightweight inflatable.

The iSUP Aloha Makua kit is less than 30lbs and the Backpack makes it easy to carry with very generous shoulder straps. A proven shape and a package that takes up so little storage space, this board is a favourite amongst our Kahuna paddlers. All Kahuna Bomber series models are hand shaped EPS foam blanks that are wrapped with an ABS outershell producing a very strong & durable board that can handle rough use.

The Epic Touring Series boards are “Hand Shaped” SUP’s utilizing our Epoxy Sandwich Vacuum Construction (ESVC). The Comp XL – Bamboo is built with various top layers with Bamboo in the Sandwich for added stiffness. We start with an EPS foam blank and shape it with a unique negative nose angle design. This progressive shape helps cut through wind chop and gives the paddler a huge advantage in directional stability. The board lay-up starts with three layers on the top and an extra fourth layer of 3k carbon is added to the standing zone. The fibreglass layers wrap over the rails for added protection and strength. We only use two layers of fibreglass on the bottom to keep the board as light as possible. Once you have paddled a KAHUNA Epic Touring Series board you will notice the details we have engineered into this board!

The Comp XL is a “Race Oriented” design for bigger paddlers that want to go fast and straight. The “Displacement Hull” with a negative nose angle cuts through choppy water with ease.

The Kahuna CLASSIC WOODY is a tribute to the popular wood long board era of the 60’s. Each WOODY is constructed with a true veneer cosmetic using our Epoxy Sandwich Vacuum Construction (ESVC) process. We start with a high density foam blank and wrap it with two full layers of fiberglass cloth. The bamboo veneer is sandwiched between the two upper layers before we add a third layer to the standing zone and wrap it around the rails for added strength. The WOODY’s traditional shape is 5” thick and 10’ 6” long with plenty of floatation for paddling the lake or riding waves.

Fast & Maneuverable

The very popular Epic KUDA was added to our line-up in 2015. With a similar design to the KING, the KUDA is a little shorter and narrower at 31ﾔ making the KUDA more maneuverable. Although a little smaller than the KING, you can still pack loads of gear on the front and back tie-downs for those long trips. The drop down deck aids in feel, with a “Ridge Line” like the KING on the bow to help with overall stiffness.
